JEWELLERY MAKING WORKSHOPS
Fancy turning jewellery designer for the evening and crafting your own unique handmade piece?
Then join me for a wonderfully relaxing and creative workshop carving a design in jewellers wax which will then be cast in silver and finished according to your requirements. Previous jewellery making experience is not necessary as I’ll help you through the process from start to finish.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
With my guidance you'll carve your own unique ring or pendant design to be cast in silver. You will learn about the casting process as well as exploring different techniques for creating effects and textures using simple tools.
By the end of the session you will have created a wax master which will be sent away to London’s famous Hatton Garden for casting in silver. I will then hand finish your piece according to your specifications and post it back to you in a beautifully packaged gift box.
HOW IT WORKS
You can choose to make ONE of the following:
1) A ring (up to 8mm wide)
2) A large pendant (approx. 15mm x 30mm)
3) Two smaller layering necklaces (each approx. 15mm x 15mm)
The cost of the workshop is £85 which includes materials, tuition, refreshments and casting your piece/s in silver.
Please note that pieces that are larger than the specifications above will incur an extra charge. Should you wish to have your finished piece(s) plated in yellow or rose gold then an extra £30 is payable on the day.
All workshops take place at Kiln Workshop, 63 North Road, Bristol, but are on hold at the moment due to the current lockdown in England. Please get in touch if you would like to know when new dates are available.
If you'd like to give a Jewellery Making Workshop ticket as a gift, but aren't sure what date to choose then a gift certificate is for you! It can be purchased HERE and you can choose whether to have a hard copy sent in the post or a PDF e-mailed to you or directly to the recipient.
COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES
To keep everyone safe and happy, each class is limited to 6 people plus the host. Participants will be seated at least one metre apart and the windows and doors will remain open to aid ventilation. Please provide your own face covering to wear during the session (apart from when eating or drinking).
If you experience any symptoms or come into contact with anyone who is experiencing symptoms, please DO NOT attend the class. If you are unable to attend because of this I am happy to transfer your booking to another date. If an alternative date is not convenient I will provide a full refund.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
"I did a ring making workshop. I couldn't believe what a wonderful thing I was able to produce in only two hours. Great friendly atmosphere & support from Elin. Highly recommended!", Mel
‘Elin’s ring workshop was an absolute pleasure. The experience of whittling away that intricate little piece of wax was deeply satisfying in and of itself. But to then have your labours arrive through the post as a solid cast piece of metal (that will last FOREVER UNTIL THE END OF TIME) was a genuine thrill. I’m fully fledged a metal smith convert.’ Mikey
