Jewellery making workshops

Make your own one-of-a-kind silver jewellery

Fancy turning jewellery designer for the evening and making your own unique handmade silver ring or pendant?

Then join me for a relaxing and creative jewellery making workshop carving a design in wax which will then be cast in silver and finished according to your requirements. This is a beginners level jewellery class and previous experience is not necessary as you'll be guided through the process from start to finish.

What sort of jewellery will I make at a class?

The workshops focus on the ancient jewellery making technique of wax carving. With guidance you'll carve your own unique design from wax which will then be cast in recycled silver.  You'll learn about the lost wax casting process and explore techniques for creating effects and textures using simple tools.  You can choose to make a ring (up to 8mm wide) OR a pendant (approx. 15mm x 15mm).

By the end of the 2.5 hour session you will have created a wax master which will be sent away to London’s famous jewellery quarter Hatton Garden for casting in silver. I will then hand finish your piece according to your specifications and post it back to you in a beautifully packaged gift box within 3 weeks.

How much does the workshop cost?

The cost of the workshop is £95 per person which includes materials, tuition, refreshments, casting your piece/s in recycled silver, finishing & polishing and return postage to you.

Pieces larger than these specifications above will incur an extra charge. Should you wish to have your finished piece(s) plated in yellow or rose gold then an extra £30 is payable on the day.

Can I buy a workshop voucher as a gift?

Kind words from previous jewellery making workshop participants

"I did a ring making workshop. I couldn't believe what a wonderful thing I was able to produce in only two hours. Great friendly atmosphere & support from Elin. Highly recommended!", Mel

‘Elin’s ring workshop was an absolute pleasure. The experience of whittling away that intricate little piece of wax was deeply satisfying in and of itself. But to then have your labours arrive through the post as a solid cast piece of metal (that will last FOREVER UNTIL THE END OF TIME) was a genuine thrill. I’m fully fledged a metal smith convert.’ Mikey

"I went on a ring making workshop with Elin and it was brilliant. I learnt a lot and had so much fun at the same time. I would really really recommend this experience - I was a complete beginner and still managed to produce a ring I love and am proud of", Lynsey

"I thoroughly recommend Elin’s workshop. With a relaxed and lovely atmosphere and Elin’s guidance you are sure to have a great time and leave with a beautiful and unique creation at the end of it", Jonny
