Summer is upon us and I'm ignoring the rain and hoping it will turn out to be as beautiful as it was last year (initial signs are NOT good!) Even if it’s not, you can still channel the holidaying on the Cote d’Azur vibe with my pick of knock ‘em dead summer dresses. Who knows, maybe wearing some of these fabulous pieces will summons the sun. Worth a try, eh?
First up it’s the Gracie dress from Radish (above left) which is just the absolute summer dream….those ruffles, the classic 70s tiered shape, it’s got it all! The orangey red is the colour for me, but it also comes in a heavenly blush pink, lilac and black. I’d team mine with really simple, but bold earrings like the single orbit hoops in silver or maybe these lovely gold arc drop earrings (which pssst....are on sale at the moment)
The Johanna Sands dresses, available exclusively via Studio B also scream laid back summer days. The capsule collection of linen dresses in ice cream colours is handmade by Johanna herself and are strictly limited edition and there's a waiting list. Seriously though, if they're not worth waiting for I don't know what is!
It's really hard to pick a favourite, but I think I'd go for the Concetta in pink linen (top right) I reckon the parallel bracelet in gold would be the perfect chic and minimal accessory for this beautiful dress.
Ok, so if the high street is more your bag then what about this lovely striped cotton linen midi dress (above left) from & Other Stories? I’m delighted about those pockets for a start! I think I’d let the stripes do the talking with this outfit and go for something super simple necklace like the small triangle neckalce in silver or the mini atomic necklace. Less is definitely more when it comes to summer jewellery.
This hot pink sundress from H&M’s Concious range is my final pick and an absolute beauty. I imagine gliding through a French market with a basket on my arm in this one, ne c’est pas? It’s made from a light and airy lyocell blend fabric which is recyclable and biodegradable so a more eco friendly option than some man made fabrics. There’s an interesting post here about lyocell if you’d like to know more about its eco credentials. This dress is crying out for some statement earrings, so I'm going to suggest these lovely large teardrops as they're so light and easy to wear. Right, all we need to do now is pray for some sun!!
