Jewellery storage ideas

August 7, 2018

How do you store your jewellery?  Are you super organised and keep everything neatly packaged away in the original boxes? Or do you just take it off and fling it into a heap somewhere?

I’ve always been very loyal to Muji’s clear acrylic storage boxes (see above), but mine are getting close to capacity and I’m not sure how high I can feasibly stack them!  Also, as each drawer is quite shallow I struggle to fit in larger pieces that need more space.  So, with that I mind I’ve been trawling the internet for some good alternative options…

There’s a lot to be said for anything transparent as it allows you to quickly see what’s stored inside.  I love these glass shadow boxes from West Elm (above, left).  You can chose from square or rectangular shapes and the all have a white linen lining to really show off your wares.  There are even some wall mounted versions if you fancy giving your home a real jewellery boutique feel.

Nukku also has a fantastic range of glass boxes in a various shapes and sizes, made from glass and brass and handcrafted by artisans in India (above, right).

If you’re after a stand then there are lots of options available.  I like the striking simplicity of this one from Made, or or there’s this double copper pipe version from Milimetry on Etsy (above, left) if your jewellery addiction has reached epic proportions.  Actually, it’s definitely worth having a good trawl around Etsy as some sellers will make to your specifications so you can order something that’s totally bespoke.

If none of those tempt you and you’re still a ‘fling it in a pile’ type of person then feast your eyes on these beautifully kitsch trinket dishes from Anthropologie.  I'm pretty sold on the 'Summer Scoops' design (above, right), but there are lots of different ones to choose from.

Do let me know if you've come up with any ingenious ways to display your jewellery or you know of any must have storage solutions that you're willing to share.  Happy organising!
